DIY Sports Drink

Here's how to make a homemade sports drink using coconut water, citrus juice, salt, and honey. This drink is hydrating and provides electrolytes, making it great for replenishment after exercise.

DIY Sports Drink

Ingredients

  • 2 cups coconut water

  • 1/2 cup fresh citrus juice (such as lemon, lime, or orange juice)

  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey (or to taste, adjust based on sweetness preference)

  • Optional: Fresh mint leaves for added flavor (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large pitcher or mixing bowl, combine the coconut water and fresh citrus juice.

  2. Add Salt: Stir in the sea salt until it is fully dissolved.

  3. Sweeten: Add honey to the mixture, stirring until it is completely dissolved. Taste and adjust the sweetness if needed by adding more honey.

  4. Chill: Refrigerate the drink for about 30 minutes to chill, or serve immediately over ice.

  5. Garnish (Optional): If desired, add fresh mint leaves for a refreshing touch.

  6. Serve: Pour the sports drink into glasses and enjoy it as a refreshing post-workout replenishment.

Tips

  • Adjust the flavors: Feel free to tweak the ratios of coconut water, citrus juice, and honey to suit your taste preferences.

  • Storage: This drink can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Shake well before serving, as ingredients may settle.
