House prices are quietly becoming more affordable – but the interesting bit is where that’s happening, and what it really means if you’re investing. Since 2020, average salaries are up around 20%, while house prices have grown at roughly 1% per year. In other words, price‑to‑income ratios are finally easing at the same time as major lenders move from 5x to 6x income multiples. Banks are simply willing to lend more against the same income.
