Then Scott Schutz walked away to build things with his hands. 35 years, 43 companies, and not one bankruptcy.

Today, Scott uses all of that experience to stand on the other side of the table. Through Focal Point Business Coaching, he acts as an owner’s representative and coach, helping owners protect their equity and avoid the costly mistakes he watched happen for decades. He’s built churches for 38 years, and he knows exactly where growing congregations and building committees get caught out.

He’s also the founder behind Bedford Falls of Carmel, 34 age-qualified homes in Indiana, and still building.

When we asked what carried him through, his answer wasn’t strategy, ambition or money. It was humility, and “the fear of failure.”

If you’re a business owner, a developer, or part of a church or organisation planning to build, Scott is someone you want in your corner. Connect with him here: Scott Schutz

Thank you, Scott, for your time, your honesty and your generosity. It was a privilege to host your first podcast.
